North Leitrim Community Network Representatives
Maureen Byrne, Thomas Kelly, Noel Loughlin & Mary
Margaret Parson represent the North Leitrim Community
Network. This is a forum for groups to exchange information
using their combined power to lobby for change. Currently
there are 97 groups registered with the North Leitrim
Network and the community development worker is Teresa
Butler. The North Leitrim networks meets approximately
4 times each year to discuss issues affecting community
and voluntary groups
The North Leitrim Network members also represent the
community forum on the Social Inclusion Measures Committee,
Regional Community Forum, Leitrim Active Citizenship
Project & Rural LIFT.
South Leitrim Community Network
Ellen Keane, Michael McGovern, Bernadette McLoughlin
& Gerry McGee represent South Leitrim Network on
Leitrim Community Forum. The Network was set up in 2000
with the aid of Leitrim Partnership Board. Its aim is
to bring together all the community and voluntary groups
in the south of the county to pool information on things
such as grants available, FAS schemes, and insurance
details and any issues that affect community and voluntary
groups. It also acts as a support for new and more established
groups. There are 125 community and voluntary groups
registered with the Network.
South Leitrim Network covers the electoral areas of
Carrick, Ballinamore and part of Dromahaire and the
development worker is Bernie Donohue.
The South Leitrim Network members also represent the
community forum on the County Development Board and
the Good Life Project, Leitrim Tourism Ltd & The
National Community Forum.
